A DNS blocklist — a DNSBL — is a list of addresses published as DNS records, so that a mail server can ask about a sender in the time it takes to make one lookup. This page asks the major public lists about an address directly and shows you the code each one returned, because the code is the answer and any summary of it is ours rather than theirs.
What being listed actually means
It depends entirely on the list. Spam-source lists record addresses that were seen sending unsolicited mail. Policy lists record ranges the operator has declared should not be sending mail directly at all, which describes almost every residential connection and is not an accusation of anything. Exploit lists record hosts believed to be compromised or running an open proxy, and that one is worth acting on. Lists disagree with each other by design; each publishes its own policy and each is entitled to it.
Why your mail bounces
Most receiving mail servers consult two or three lists and refuse anything listed on them. If your own server's address is on a spam-source or exploit list, the usual cause is a compromised account or a misconfigured relay sending mail you did not intend. Fix the cause first: every list re-adds an address that keeps behaving the same way, and delisting a host that is still sending is a wasted request.
Getting removed
Each operator runs its own process, and each has a page for the specific address — that is what the delisting link goes to. Most self-service removals work once, and repeat listings then require an explanation. None of this is something we can do on your behalf: we can only tell you which lists to talk to.

My home connection is on a list. Should I worry?
Almost certainly not. Home connections sit in ranges that policy lists mark as not-for-direct-mail, which is a description of the range rather than a judgement about you. It only matters if you are trying to run a mail server on that line, which those lists exist to discourage.
How long does delisting take?
From minutes to days, depending on the list. Self-service removals are usually immediate; lists that require a review take longer. All of them relist an address that keeps triggering the same rule.
Why do the lists disagree?
Because they are measuring different things on purpose. One list's job is to record spam sources; another's is to describe address ranges by policy. A result on one says nothing about the other.
